Marvin “Tony” Hemmings Jr. is a 3x Grammy-nominated and Telly Award-winning record producer, songwriter, pianist, and composer. He has worked with a broad range of artists such as Justin Bieber, Kirk Franklin, Jessie J, and Brandy just to name a few.

In 2008, Tony teamed up with Darkchild to co-produce platinum recording R&B artist, Brandy Norwood’s “Piano Man” from her fifth album, “Human”. He later went on to produce the gospel hit “Withholding Nothing” for William McDowell. The song and album successfully debuted and charted at #1 on Billboard Gospel.

After finding much success in the R&B and Gospel industry, Tony began producing for mainstream television and film. He was brought in to provide music for Pepsi, Walmart, Dove, Vaseline, iHeart Radio, KFC Commercials, etc, and television specials including the BET Awards and Soul Train Music Awards.  He has composed and arranged music for several television networks such as BET, MTV, VH1, NBC Sports, MSNBC, and many more.  His musical genius can also be heard on seasons 3 & 4 of Fox’s hit television show Empire and seasons 1,2 & 3 of STAR. At the end of 2018, Grammy Nominated artist, Jessie J, released her classic Christmas album “This Christmas Day”, where Tony was listed as co-producer for “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” and “Jingle Bell Rock.”

Tony’s production was heard throughout  Focus Features’ film, “The High Note” starring Tracee Ellis Ross and Ice Cube. Also, in 2020 the NBA, NFL, and NASCAR selected “It’s Ok to Be Black”, a song written and produced by Tony and Rodney Jerkins for Island Record’s artist Jac Ross, as their response to the Black Lives Matters movement and racial injustice.
